More details about the morning hospital fire were revealed.

Coronavirus – the second year

It has been more than a year since the Chinese authorities informed the WHO of the emergence of a new, rapidly spreading virus. Since then, there has hardly been a person in the world who has not heard the term Covid-19, and more and more people are mourning a family member or friend with whom the new disease ended as stocks collapsed in weeks and our entire lives were rewritten. by the epidemic. By now, the vaccines have been completed, which in turn raises not only hope, but again many questions, while not only stopping the virus, but also threatening another mutation. You can find the details of this fight in our article series.

There was a fire in the Covid ward at Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Hatvan on Sunday morning and no one was injured in the accident, the MTI reported Sunday afternoon. Krisztina Zelnik, the hospital’s press officer, told MTI that the coronavirus-infected patients had been transferred to another part of the hospital reserved for that purpose.

Disaster management had previously told MTI that a room had caught fire on the first floor of one of the wings of a building at Hatvan Hospital. The furniture was burned and the fire spread to the store under the pavilion window. The firefighters marched with 7 vehicles, put out the fire in a short time, the cause is still being investigated. Three rooms were evacuated during the works. Krisztina Zelnik stated that the fire had started in one of the rooms in the part of the building reserved for coronavirus patients. Workers had to evacuate a 28-bed non-intensive Covid-19 supply unit.

Building ventilation and primary remediation are still ongoing, and what has happened does not cause a lasting disruption to patient care and hospital operations.

Update: after the publication of our article, according to Telex.hu, the fire could have started because one of the patients lit it in the ward; they know that three Covid positive patients were treated in the quad room.
