More than 10,000 protested in Stuttgart against the restrictions imposed because of the epidemic, throwing stones at the police.

Coronavirus – the second year

It has been more than a year since the Chinese authorities informed the WHO of the emergence of a new, rapidly spreading virus. Since then, there has hardly been a person in the world who has not heard the term Covid-19, and more and more people are mourning a family member or friend with whom the new disease ended as stocks collapsed in weeks and our entire lives were rewritten. by the epidemic. By now, the vaccines have been completed, which in turn raises not only hope, but again many questions, while not only stopping the virus, but also threatening another mutation. You can find the details of this fight in our article series.

More than 10,000 protested, largely without a protective mask, against epidemic restrictions in Stuttgart, southwestern Germany, on Saturday, police said.

Stuttgart authorities had warned in advance that the demonstration would break up if its participants did not comply with mandatory regulations at the time of the coronavirus epidemic, but hundreds of police officers commanded at the protest site did not intervene. The demonstration was largely peaceful, although Bildt Day reported that protesters threw stones at police several times.

Sven Metis, a spokesman for the Stuttgart police, noted that epidemiological regulations in Baden-Württemberg do not restrict freedom of assembly. And Mayor Clemens Maiert drew attention to the fact that thousands of rapes occurred during the demonstration and that anyone who did not wear a mask or did not observe the prescribed distance could be fined.

The protesters marched through the streets of Stuttgart at the behest of the Querdenken movement. Querdenken is a loosely organized movement in Germany whose members deny the existence of the coronavirus or the severity of the epidemic, spread conspiracy theories about it, are vaccinated, and have protested the epidemic restrictions several times in recent times.
