Volkswagen dropped the joke bomb word of the year

It’s hard to believe even after checking multiple sources, but it seems like it’s really changing the name of Volkswagen cars in America. The German automaker is now called abroad as

VOLTSWAGEN.

On Monday, CNBC noted that a press release about the entire US subsidiary had accidentally been uploaded to the US side of the company. No official confirmation was received, so several speculated that some botched prank from April came out too early.

On Tuesday, however, the company confirmed that after May 21, there will no longer be Volkswagen in the United States because the company will be renamed Volkswagen of America.

According to an official announcement from VW, the name change shows its commitment to the electric car market. You’re probably thinking here that while the German word Volkswagen means a public car, there is an electric voltage unit in the Volkswagen.

“Now we are replacing our letter K with a T, but what we are not replacing is the brand’s determination to create the best cars in its class,” said Scott Keogh, the future president of the new Voltswagen America.

Update

Late at night, it turned out that Volkswagen would not change its American brand, everything would remain the same, it was all just a marketing interpretation, with which half of the world press was sucked out. This very creative lie has a tradition in the history of the German manufacturer anyway.
