In a few weeks, millions of doses of Chinese CanSino and an Indian single-dose CoviShield coronavirus vaccine will arrive in Hungary, according to a response from the Foreign Ministry and the Foreign Ministry’s press department to atv.hu. According to the ministry, there is still no contract for all this, but negotiations are ongoing.

On Monday, Cecília Müller, medical director, announced that OGYÉI had authorized the use of the vaccine in Hungary. CanSino contains human adenovirus 5, the vector by which information is introduced into cells. The Covishield vaccine is almost identical to the AstraZeneca vaccine. The CanSioBio vaccine protects 65.3 percent of Covid-19, according to Chinese results, and 91 percent protects against serious diseases, according to clinical trials in Pakistan. AstraZeneca’s serum is 79 percent effective, according to a study by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

OGYÉI has indicated that the two vaccines can only be used after authorization and laboratory testing and must ensure that the vaccines are safe, effective and of adequate quality.
