On January 14, Mol established a subsidiary with a registered capital of 3 million HUF. The scope of the new company’s activities is quite diverse, from bakery and sporting goods retailing to holiday accommodation, through advertising and real estate agents. On February 11, we asked the company exactly what the company was created for, but received no response.

Until now, until March 11:

Mol announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement with Marché International AG. The oil company will acquire the nine restaurants that operate under the Marché brand.

With the acquisition of the Marché Hungarian restaurants, new perspectives will open up for the company and consumers will be able to enjoy a completely new type of gastronomy compared to Fresh Corners.

At Fresh Corners, which has been in operation since 2015, the Mol 185 gas station offers not only fuel, but also coffee, hot dogs, fresh sandwiches and pastries for those who travel. The concept contributed significantly to the fact that the Consumer Services segment increased Mol’s EBITDA (profit before tax) by a record $ 510 million (HUF 156 billion) in 2020.

The closing of the transaction requires the prior fulfillment of certain conditions, including the approval of the competition authority.
