Coronavirus – the second year

More than a year has passed since the Chinese authorities informed the WHO about the emergence of a new, rapidly spreading virus. Since then, there has hardly been a person in the world who has not heard the term Covid-19, and more and more people are mourning a family member or friend with whom the new disease ended as stocks collapsed in weeks and our entire lives were rewritten. by the epidemic. By now, the vaccines have been completed, which in turn raises not only hope, but again many questions, while not only stopping the virus, but also threatening another mutation. You can find the details of this fight in our series of articles.

The Slovakian portal Parameter made an amazing movie at the Dunaszerdahely Hospital. The half hour report is also special because we often do not see what happens in a health center during an epidemic, much less on an independent news portal.

In the short film, doctors say that every day there is a danger that they will not be able to provide adequate care to patients or that there is not enough space in the institution. There are few sisters, they too are on the verge of exhaustion. A nurse tells her that she cannot process the situation, that she cannot leave behind what she has seen even at home, her phone is on day and night.

“We are on our way to the end …” says a nurse.

During the report, the dead are taken away, we can see vibrant young men for whom the doctors fight.

Dr. Balázs Laczkó says that the wife of one of his colleagues had to be put on a plane.

A doctor says he was on duty where five young men had to be resuscitated, but all five died.

I’m surprised if I leave someone at home and don’t write the article on the corpse. “

he adds.

According to the expert, an average of 1.5 out of every 10 patients leave the intensive care unit. He also reports that three of his patients have died since his last shift.

The film emphasizes that the coronavirus cannot be compared to influenza, nor in terms of participation or outcome of the disease.
