Perseverance sent more than 30GB of data and about 23,000 recordings home of the Martian landing. These were revealed by NASA on Monday night.

NASA was a great success after a successful landing on the surface of Mars on February 18 called Perseverance. Landing the structure would have been a very serious performance in itself, but this is all reinforced by the fact that the maneuver was performed in autonomous driving mode.

Therefore, NASA referred to the landing as only 7 minutes of awe, as ground control could only learn from the beeps if the operation was successful. Professionals were unable to intervene in the process due to the long distance, but they made sure to see exactly what happened later. The organization posted a video about it on Monday night.

The experts placed quite a few cameras on the Martian’s undercarriage.

After landing, Perseverance sent more than 30GB of data back to Earth, representing around 23,000 recordings. In the summary video of the landing, you can clearly see what happened during the operation.

As the researchers pointed out, it is very important that we were able to see a video of the event. Several decades ago, when the first image reached Earth from Mars, engineers still had to color it millimeter by millimeter, using predefined coding.
