The Romanian criminal gang that has looted truckers and trucking companies working in France in recent years is quite audacious, Main Square reported.
The method fits into an action movie: trucks carrying potentially valuable cargo were chased by high-performance cars with sunroofs. As the driver clung tightly to the truck, his partner exited through the sunroof and walked to the top of the vehicle to the trailer of the truck. He cut the tarp, got on the truck, and dumped the goods. The material was collected by the companions.
Mainly cosmetics, computer equipment and electronic items were stolen. With 21 shares between May 2018 and August 2019, they captured three and a half million euros in loot.
According to investigations by French investigating authorities, Romanian police finally conducted house searches at 13 Romanian locations on Wednesday and arrested two Romanian burglars who circulated internationally through the French. They are still looking for six other Romanian citizens, also part of the gang, suspected of not being in the country. A European arrest warrant has been issued against them.
