There will be a change in licenses from July

In the future, the deadline for the medical aptitude test required for driving licenses should be set for both professional and non-professional drivers in such a way that:

its month and day are the same as the subject’s month and day of birth.

If this rule applies, the time limit may be exceeded until the first birthday of the person being tested after the time limit. If the subject was born on February 29 and that day is missing in the year in which the eligibility period expires, the eligibility period expires on February 28. The new rule will take effect in July.

Until now, the GP for non-professional drivers has been performed by the GP of your choice or by the GP of your place of residence or stay. This circle is complemented by the occupational doctor and, in the case of a person who works within the framework of unorganized work, also by the occupational health specialist who is territorially competent according to the place of residence. This section goes into effect on Saturday.

The amendment also stipulates that periodic medical examinations of drivers with hearing impairments must be performed by a general practitioner or occupational physician on the basis of an audiological examination no longer than 3 months. In the event of significant deterioration, the general practitioner and the occupational health service physician may request that the driver’s fitness be evaluated by a committee of experts. In the case of drivers whose condition is final, the general practitioner or occupational doctor will determine their aptitude taking into account the expert opinion on the previous hearing condition.
