In addition to the direct financial benefit, Biden wants to push testing and spread vaccines with his plans revealed Thursday. The contents of the rescue package are as follows:

- The weekly federal unemployment benefit would rise to $ 400 and run through September.

- $ 170 billion in support of preschool, school and higher education institutions.
- $ 50 billion for coronavirus testing.
- $ 20 billion for the national vaccine program.
- Full refund of the child tax credit and increased credit to $ 3,000 per child ($ 3,600 for children under 6 years old).
It is worth mentioning that the plan just outlined is the first of two large packages of measures already announced that President-elect Joe Biden has promised for the first months of his presidency. According to sources close to Biden, the second package is expected in February and will address long-term goals: job creation, infrastructure reform, fighting climate change and promoting racial equality.
The soon-to-arrive president reportedly continues to support the $ 10,000 student loan waiver.
Biden’s entourage is said to want very quick approval of the bailout package in Congress, but there are also steps in the action plan (like raising the minimum wage) that were clearly rejected by Republican decision makers in the past. Therefore, it is questionable what measures could be taken in the near future.
