The coronavir vaccine, developed jointly by the University of Oxford and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, began use in the UK on Monday, writes MTI.

Oxford-based Brian Pinker was the first in the world to receive the vaccine, according to the British branch of the British Public Health Service (NHS). According to the NHS, Brian Pinker is 82 years old and needs dialysis treatment, so he is at risk in two ways and therefore is the first to be vaccinated.

The Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine is the second vaccine after the joint vaccine from Pfizer and BioNtech, which has been introduced in the UK.
