Although according to the current government decree “It is forbidden to organize or carry out an event or a meeting” in Hungary, Ms. István Bálint, Mayor Fidesz of Bicske, for a concert on the steps of the town hall, by the Pannonia Children’s Choir.

The crime also took place at the announced time. With children standing side by side, singing without a mask, of course, with a minimum of dozens of locals. Although this was not clear in the publication of the mayor’s original invitation, the event was not just a concert, it would have been illegal, but also a political event.

From the pictorial coverage posted on the I Love Bicske Facebook group, it turns out that Bálintné also delivered his usual annual evaluation speech at the event.

Local people kindly gathered for the event. According to the picture report, they were wearing masks at least for the most part:

Other photos show that although the size of the crowd is difficult to measure, there were few or all with a mask:

Or that, as you can see in the image above, there was also mulled wine or tea. Among those interested were older and younger.

I contacted Istvánné Bálint as soon as she responded, I will update the article. I also sent questions to the police about whether they were aware of the incident, whether the organizers were warned that it was a violation of the law, whether action was taken on January 2, or whether there was a pending process against the event organizer.

The Fidesz politician was among those, despite the fact that his settlement is close to the prime minister’s birthplace, with whom Prime Minister Orbán, who was otherwise modest in the 2019 municipal election campaign, took photos during the Bell. (Ms. Bálint poses with Orbán in the lower right corner of the image below).

His post about Nyugati Fény also indicates what other threads Istvánné Bálint has in the environment of Prime Minister Orbán: the politician has been a member of the board of directors of Kelemen Beatrix, a broadcasting company called Media Vivantis Zrt. She was the wife of Lőrinc Mészáros.
