Historic heights are besieged by Fehérvár AV19, but happiness is not complete, as drug addicts who have long been hungry for success cannot be with their beloved team right now. President Péter Gál also spoke to our newspaper about the economic difficulties due to the epidemic situation, the harmony of the team finally found and the joyous dragging role of the Hungarian players.

– Fehérvár is waiting for the sequel to second place in the ICEHL, which we are not used to. Are you befriending the idea?
“In fact, we don’t usually walk at those heights, so now the atmosphere around the team house is understandably good. And while this is a momentary job, a performance that must be repressed, regardless of the number of games played and the circumstances, as we have dealt with the coronavirus and its aftermath in the same way as everyone else. replied the Hungarian championship team based in Austria, the president of Fehérvár AV19 SC, Gál Péter Pál.

Goalkeeper of Hydro Fehérvár AV19, Dániel Kornakker He also joined the global charitable action of Zsombor, a boy from Kazincbarcika who was diagnosed with SMA, that is, muscular atrophy of spinal origin. The treatment of a rare hereditary disease in children under two years of age is only possible with Zolgensma gene therapy, which is currently the most expensive drug in the world, at a price of 2.1 million dollars (about 730 million HUF). In addition to many, Péter Gulácsi and Özil Mesut also assisted in the collection, and Kornakker offered his uniquely painted helmet for the 2019-2020 season at auction: in the auction closed on January 1, the special piece sold for 350,001 HUF.

– The situation is special, because Székesfehérvár’s unwavering fans have been waiting for such a performance for a long time, no one can be in the stands right now to be happy with the team.
“It’s the saddest part of our season.” It is not enough to constantly worry about the health of our friends and fellow men, our stalls, which would otherwise be overcrowded, are also painfully empty. This hurts in all respects, not only emotionally, but also financially, the sale of tickets and season tickets is an important and well-known element in the budget of hockey in Fehérvár. We are very confident that our family of fans will be able to return to the stands as soon as possible.

– How serious is the situation in economic terms?
“We finally got to the point where we were able to start budgeting for the next season in the current season, without taking into account the effects of the then unknown coronavirus epidemic – the first and then the second wave didn’t do much good for those. plans “. It’s no secret, we have a rescue strategy that allows the club to take advantage of a certain deduction percentage to make up for close goalkeeping matches, and presumably we should. Fortunately, our players also feel and understand that they must accept this, as we need to live not only the good and the bad, so we also have to share the burden to stay alive in the long term. This is in the common interest of all.

– The sponsors understand the crisis, and if they do, the team …
– So far we have not been in an enviable situation in this field, now we have to fight even harder: we have to lean towards each florin with a bit of exaggeration. However, we cannot have a word. The city, as our well-known main sponsor, has reduced its contribution only slightly, even though the priority is understandably completely different at the moment. That is why we have a great thank you, like our other sponsors, for staying by our side, as now it is not easy for anyone. At the same time, the strength of hockey in Fehérvár is excellently demonstrated by the fact that we were able to sign a new sponsorship deal even in this difficult economic environment, with a fan appearing as a completely new player to hockey and having plans to us long term.

– Let’s talk about the happiest part, the cheerful performance: what opens the secret? Something is clapping.
– It is not my job to form the team – Viktor Szélig, Managing Director and the staff led by Antti Karhula, deserve success – and I also make sure to have at most a private opinion on this. In any case, we’ve learned from previous years that buying names that sound good is not enough in hockey. The way I see it, there is a good harmony and balance between Hungarians and Legionnaires. Obviously, it is not yet worth drawing far-reaching conclusions from the statistics, but it shows very well that among the best we do not only have imported players: among the fifteen most successful hockey players in the league are Colton Hargrove and Alex Petan, János Hári and Csanád Transylvania, probably István Bartalis. not just because he missed five games. And it’s great to see that these guys, in addition to shaping our game, are also leaders in the locker room. It is gratifying that we can be effective in keeping our promise that we will not forget the interests of the national team. With this in mind, we hired Janci Hári for five years, Isti Bartalis for three, but I can also highlight Bence Stipsicz, who once again proves game by game that he is one of the best Hungarian runners. Also, more and more young people coming out of the Titans or the academy show that it can be expected!
