A Hungarian Red Cross On his initiative, mobile igloos will be purchased in Nagykanizsa for the safe accommodation of the homeless in the area. László Balogh, the mayor of Nagykanizsa, recently awarded a grant of one million florins for the implementation of the social project, writes Zaol.hu.

The Index has learned from the Hungarian Red Cross that this is not a national initiative, but a unique local initiative.

The mobile igloo was originally invented by a French engineer and is useful because:

  • folding
  • good thermal insulation,
  • made of waterproof polyethylene foam material,
  • easy to move,
  • hygienic because it is easy to clean,
  • fireproof,
  • and provides a temperature of about 15 degrees Celsius higher than the outside temperature.

The Zala County Organization of the Hungarian Red Cross also recommended the purchase of mobile igloos because it is a very advantageous investment, as there is no need for an authorization procedure as igloos are extremely simple devices in terms of technical implementation.

Experts estimate that there may be 15-20 homeless people living in Nagykanizsa, for whom it would be helpful if they could move into a mobile igloo. Mayor László Balogh decided to award the grant in his own competition.

This warm mobile igloo, which we consider a very clever solution, was discovered by one of my colleagues. The idea came after a tragic incident. When handicaps suddenly erupted in Nagykanizsa last fall, a homeless person who was not a resident of the local homeless shelter died of frostbite in early November.

He told the Index Ms. József Baracskai, Zala County Director of the Hungarian Red Cross.

The mobile igloo will arrive in Nagykanizsa from the Czech Republic on January 15-20, from the nearest mobile igloo depot. Their igloos will be placed near the homeless shelter so they can be seen in your field of vision so they can take care of them.
