As part of the reduction in red tape that began in 2010, administrative simplification will be further simplified for citizens and businesses from January 1, the prime minister said. The aim is for citizens and businesses to be able to use e-services as widely as possible online, including from home, given the epidemic situation. Applications can now be submitted in nearly five hundred cases using an electronic form, so you can now request a baby or child care fee online.
The administrative burden for sole proprietors and businesses will also be reduced. The opening of bank accounts for companies will be simplified, since from 2021 it will not be necessary to visit the tax authority, the chamber of commerce and the secretary separately. And sole proprietors will have the opportunity to apply for chamber registration, which up to now has had to be presented separately to the chamber, at the same time as the start of sole proprietorship in NAV is announced.
Mortgage registration will be simplified and the building permit renewal procedure will be abolished. With this, there will be four years to start construction and another six years to complete it.
According to the Prime Minister’s announcement, the new customer-friendly regulation also means a change of attitude in the public administration, since the objective of the sanction is to encourage citizens and companies to act voluntarily. To this end, in most cases, the authority will only use a warning against anyone who commits an administrative offense for the first time in a year. An administrative fine will be imposed only in moderation if the sanction has not been imposed on the client by any authority within three years.
