Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 1307 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 327,995. Most of the deceased were 103, elderly, chronic patients, so the number of deaths rose to 9,884 – koronavirus.gov.hu ​​reported the latest epidemiological data.

The number of people recovered is also constantly increasing, currently 168,381 people, the number of actively infected people has decreased to 149,730 people. 5,619 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, 403 of whom are on ventilators.

During the day, 5,960 tests were carried out, of which 21.9 percent were positive. This also means that a total of 2,691,904 samples have been taken in the country so far.

So far, a total of 80,000 doses of vaccine have arrived in Hungary, with which healthcare workers are already being vaccinated at 21 hospital vaccination points. Viktor Orbán said on Sunday morning on Hungarian Radio’s Sunday Newspaper program that he was not satisfied with the rate of arrival of vaccines and vaccines.
