In one day, 1307 new cases of coronavirus were diagnosed in Hungary, which is in line with the trend of the previous days. The number of new cases has fluctuated between 1,000 and 3,000 in recent days.

The number of deaths still exceeds 100 today. The 7-day moving average of deaths from coronavirus complications is around 120 people.

After fewer new infections were diagnosed in the past 1 to 2 weeks than before, the total number of (only) infected people is also decreasing. (Here, the 14-day moving average is worth viewing as an official announcement, as the average course of the disease is two weeks.)

The number of hospitalized and ventilated patients has also decreased in recent weeks. The former rose by just 90 yesterday, but with a slight fluctuation, the trend is slowing down.

Well, those were favorable numbers for the epidemic. However, fewer than 6,000 tests have been performed in the last 24 hours, which is very low. 21% of the tests were positive, which means a very high hit rate and shows an uncontrolled spread of the virus.

In recent days, the positivity rate has dropped to about 10% (every tenth test was positive), but now a nasty piece of information has come back.

The virus would really be under control if the positivity rate fell below 5%, however, it appears that we have not come close to this despite almost 2 months of restrictive measures.

More details coming soon.
