Beaten, naked, threatened with a gun and robbed from an acquaintance on New Years Eve

Investigators soon identified the three men, who are suspected of having been beaten on New Year’s Eve and threatened their acquaintance with an alleged gas gun and alarm, then took his money and phone.

On December 31, 2020, at 7:41 pm, the police received a report that an injured young man was lying on the road in Tervron, Sopron. Ambulances that arrived at the scene took the man, who had suffered serious injuries, to hospital. He told police that he had drinks with two men he visually met at his residence and then headed to one of his apartments to continue the fun there. When they got there, the two men pounced on him, kicked him in the head, hit him on the head and then dragged him across the ground to the rear of the property, where they partially undressed him. Subsequently, a third man joined the combatants, threatening the victim already lying on the ground with a pistol, firing once into the air and then striking his face with the pistol grip. Then they took the money and the cell phone of the beaten young man.

Based on the man’s personal description, police identified his two assailants within hours, András B. Zsolt, 30, of Sopron, and B. László, 29, of Debrecen. Both were captured by the Operations Unit of the Center Against Terrorism. During the investigation, the police identified and on January 1, 2021 arrested the third fighter, László H. Péter, a 36-year-old resident of Sopron, who was also detained and questioned as a suspect. At the residence of the 36-year-old man, investigators seized several weapons, of which were used in the commission of the crime, with the participation of experts.
