Yesterday’s number of new cases was almost cut in half on Saturday morning, however, as we indicated in previous days, the sudden slowdown observed in the days of the Christmas period is probably due to insufficient detection.

114 patients have died in the last 24 hours, a lower figure than in previous days, so the 7-day moving average continues to indicate a decrease in the number of deaths from the disease.

The number of hospital admissions, although not as dynamic as in previous days, continues to decrease by more than 100 people. The number of people needing hospital care dropped by 208 yesterday and 119 this morning. However, the number of people on the ventilator increased by only 1. The declining number of daily falls and the number of people needing stagnant respiratory care predict that the number of deaths is also expected to decline in the coming weeks.

Yesterday some 8,000 fewer tests were carried out than in the previous days. The proportion of positive tests is still high, but has been steadily decreasing in recent days: 10,697 tests were performed, of which 13 percent were positive.
