The continuation of the M2 after Vác to the national border is one of the possible developments of the high-speed highway. Among the supported projects is the preparation of the section of the M44 to Kecskemét, which will create the Békéscsaba high-speed connection. A third four-lane connection to Transylvania with the M49 motorway will be established from the M3 motorway to the Romanian border. The quality of road connections between Szombathely and neighboring cities (Körmend, Kőszeg) is also improving significantly. The M81 will establish a north-south motorway between the M1 and the M7, further from Budapest, touching Székesfehérvár.

Several preparatory projects form the basis for the four-lane sections of the main roads in, for example, Debrecen, Jászberény, Kecskemét, Nagykanizsa, Veszprém and Zalaegerszeg. From Ajka to Zirc, the local quality of life is improved in many settlements by relieving the internal road sections, the ring road sections to be planned, among others in Baja, Etyek, Gyöngyös, Győr, Hatvan, Környe, Siófok, Soltvadkert. A new bridge can be built over the Danube in Mohács and Vác, over the Tisza in Szolnok and Szeged, and over the Sgamos in Sgamossályi. Planning for motorways and major road junctions will also start in Balatonfüred, Gödöllő, Kunszentmárton and Üllő, among others.

The new commitment will cover costs related to preparing investments between 2021 and 2026, amounting to more than HUF 26 billion next year alone. With the provision of resources, it was possible to finance and thus implement the next phase of work necessary for the progress of the projects. The resources needed for possible later stages of preparation, and later for implementation, can be increased at the rate of occurrence, with new government decisions.

In a government decision in November, the government has already allocated a total of approximately 430 billion HUF for the implementation of four road developments based on priority social needs. Between 2021 and 2024, the section of the M76 motorway between Fenékpuszta and Zalaegerszeg will be built, and the M6 motorway will be completed with the construction of the section between Bóly and Ivándárda. With this amount of funds, the costs of the four-lane section of the Szerencs-Gesztely section of the main road 37 and the construction of the Sajószentpeter-Berente ring road can also be met from the national budget.
