Index – Abroad – Shooting in Berlin

[ad_1]

There was a shooting on Saturday (December 26) in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin, four wounded and the attacker escaped, the MTI said, citing police in the German capital.

The area around the attack, where the headquarters of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD), among others, was closed, is said to be surrounded by an airborne police helicopter, according to on-site reports.

According to the Berliner Zeitung, the police pulled one of the wounded out of the Landwehr canal.

A police spokesman reported that Deustche Welle said there was presumably no political motivation for the attack, although the situation remains rather confusing.

A police spokesman said the victims had been taken to hospital and that three people were in serious condition, according to information posted on Twitter by the Berlin fire department.
