In Sweden, a sufficient number of signatures were collected in the signature collection of the Szekler petition, so the initiative reached its destination in the Scandinavian state the day before Christmas Eve, Magyar Nemzet reported.
For days it seemed that the legal limit could be reached in Sweden this year, and the 15,000 necessary signatures have finally been obtained, the newspaper writes.
In addition to collecting a total of at least one million signatures, the required number of signatures has already been collected in six countries, plus Sweden, Croatia, Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia.
For the initiative to be valid and effective, the objective must be achieved in another EU state. In recent days, several signatures have been received from Belgium, Finland and Slovenia, among others.
