The plans for the section of the line have already been made, but based on the decision of the government and the FCMC, it is necessary to review them so that we can minimize the number of trees affected by the construction of the tram and ensure the pedestrian and cycling coastal route without obstacles. In addition, plans should be adapted to the new bridgehead of the Redondo Sur Railway, which will allow a significantly wider passage at the gate of the Kopaszi dam

In the second phase of the Buda weaving tram network, it will continue on the banks of the Danube south of Szent Gellért square, on the quay of the Technical University and on the Pázmány Péter promenade to the area of ​​the Kopaszi dam. The terminal will be in Budafoki út, the line will also connect with the new Redondo Sur railway stop, Nádorkert.

The new line, to be built under the direction of the Budapest Development Center, will explore the university district (BME, ELTE) and the Infopark, partly on a grassy track, along the embankment of the Technical University and the walk Pázmány Péter. Next to a new residential and office district under construction.

Dávid Vitézy writes that since the previous plans received strong criticism from cyclists, one of the goals of the redesign is now to have a continuous and really usable bike path available at all times.

The plans, which also take into account the opinions of the population, were approved by the Capital City, BKK – Budapest Transport Center, BKV Zrt. And XI. The district will be finalized with the help of the Újbuda municipality. Preparatory tasks are financed by the government from the central budget, and the work is carried out under the supervision of Balázs Fürjes, Budapest and the Secretary of State for the Development of the Agglomeration. Plans are expected to be ready by 2021.
