Despite the decrease in the number of cases in recent days, it is already clear from the wastewater data that the hereditary material of the coronavirus is increasingly present in the country. In many places, data on infections can grow as measured by the National Center for Public Health.

On Tuesday, the number of identified infections increased by just 1,238, in line with the downward trend of the past week and a half. The government also decided on Monday that due to the favorable situation, families could visit each other on Christmas Eve and curfews would be lifted periodically. However, it appears that the decline in the epidemic may be intermittent.
According to weekly data number 51 published by the National Center for Public Health (NNK), the concentration of coronavirus hereditary material is increasing in Békéscsaba, Nyíregyháza, Szekszárd and settlements around Budapest (Tököl, Biatorbágy, Szigetszentmiklós, Budakeszi, Százhalomb). However, the test results show that the amount of SARS-CoV-2 hereditary material stagnates in most wastewater samples. In Eger, there is a decrease compared to the data of previous weeks.

Compliance with epidemiological regulations remains important, especially during the Christmas period, to maintain favorable trends and reduce the epidemic rate.
The following good advice is given to the population:
- Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone!
- Keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters!
- Let’s wear a mask!
- Wash your hands often and thoroughly!
- Watch the curfew!
