On 21 December, the dining car of the Miklós Horthy train will be delivered to Hungary, the restoration of which will begin immediately. It will be a great job for him, because Turán 9 has so far been used as the first floor of a lakeside house in Senec, Slovakia.
The repatriation and renovation was initiated by the Transport Museum, for which Miklós Kásler, the Minister of Human Resources, provided extraordinary support. .
The Turán train was used by Horthy for high-level protocol events until 1944, then moved to the territory of then-Czechoslovakia. The dining car was long used by the Czechoslovak government for representation purposes, but was scrapped in the 1970s and fell into private hands.
