The Hungarian national team midfielder who left for Leipzig was sacked before the game. After the goalless first half, the guests quickly gained a two-goal lead after the turn, but the Salzburg team leveled with goals from Mergim Berisha and Patson Daka; on the last hit, Szoboszlai delivered the goal pass.
But Wolfsberg still had an answer, Eliel Peretz took the lead again in the 79th minute, to which Jesse Marsch’s students could no longer respond with a goal. As a beginner, Szoboszlai was on the field until the 82nd minute.
Salzburg is still in first place in the league, but on Austria Wien – LASK night, guests can jump to the top with a win.
Szoboszlai says goodbye to Salzburg with 83 games, 26 goals and 35 assists.
