By Sunday morning, out of more than 24,000 samples, only 2,967 new Hungarian citizens had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the latest data from koronavirus.gov.hu revealed. This increased the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 302,989. On Saturday morning 4,045 new infections were reported with 24,204 samples and 189 deaths.
Most of the deaths were 185, they were elderly, chronic patients, so the number of deaths rose to 8,099.
The number of people being cured is also constantly growing, although only by 3,120 people, which is currently 97,443 people.
The number of actively infected people was 197,447, 1,348 less than the figure on Saturday morning.
Eighteen percent of the actively infected, 20 percent of the dead and 22 percent of those recovered were in Budapest.
The 7,022 official patients with coronavirus are being hospitalized, 273 fewer than yesterday morning. However, we do not know how much of this is due to deaths and how much to healings.
Of those hospitalized, 520 are on respirators, compared to 538 yesterday who were known to be unable to breathe on their own due to problems with the coronavirus infection.
