László Bige was able to leave the trial until late Thursday afternoon, as the court did not accept the motion of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Attorney General’s Office to place one of the wealthiest Hungarian businessmen on remand.
László Bige was arrested on Tuesday and is suspected of taking more than 800 million guilders in bribes, while damaging his own business by nearly two billion guilders.
According to the newspaper, the court is not afraid that the suspect will escape or hide somewhere, but sees a reason for the failure of the process, which is why it found criminal supervision justified.
This means that László Bige can return home and wait for his case to be resolved there. In the current situation, nobody is satisfied, so both parties have appealed. The prosecution insists on the previous one, and the legal representative of László Bige considers that the house arrest is an exaggeration. On 24.hu’s question, Péter Zamecsnik said that the court will decide the case within a reasonable time.
