Index – Economy – We can have the Pfizer vaccine with us from January

At a press conference for operational staff on Monday, the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine was said to be the closest to being approved as the first coronavirus vaccine in the European Union. It is planned to deliver 200 + 100 million doses of vaccine to the Union in the first round. The medicine is registered by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

We got a reply from Pfizer in the mail about it, they answered the Index questions within a few hours, another question is that a lot of news couldn’t be squeezed out of them. It has been written that if a vaccine called BNT162b2 receives a marketing authorization from a European pharmaceutical authority (such as the EMA), the first shipment of vaccines will begin in a few hours.

The amount each country receives from Pfizer depends on the agreement they have with the pharmaceutical company. They did not reveal how many doses of vaccine Hungary had given them.

We have already asked the operational personnel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this, but we have not received a response from anywhere.

Shipments will depart from various distribution centers, including Kalamazoo in Michigan, Puurs in Belgium, and several German sites.

Pfizer is committed to delivering the requested quantities from its factories to the vaccination centers within 3 days.

The European Medicines Agency has already provided more information when we contacted them. They also confirm in a communication posted on their website what we already knew, namely that the dossiers they received from Pfizer for marketing authorization have been under review for weeks. The EMA Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has raised a number of safety and efficacy issues with the US manufacturer, no doubt due to the fact that it has not yet been able to complete the authorization process.

The EMA informed the Index that the expected responses had been received from Pfizer on Monday, and in light of this, a meeting was urgently called before December 21 to review the vaccine dossier.

If the CHMP recommends that the vaccine be placed on the market here, the EMA will issue the authorization in a few days and shipments to Member States from Pfizer vaccination centers can begin.

Vaccination campaigns can be launched simultaneously in all EU countries.

If what Pfizer writes is true and the requested doses of vaccine are sent to any vaccination center within three days, the vaccine could be available from German GPs by the end of December, thanks to quick approval from the EMA, as there is a Pfizer plant in Germany. The German health minister also spoke about this on Tuesday.

From here, however, the vaccine can also reach Hungary in a matter of days, because as Ágnes Galgóczi, head of the epidemiology department of the National Center for Public Health (NKK), explained to the public this Saturday, the Hungarian government was prepared to deliver and receive vaccinations. Vaccination points have been designated and a vaccination plan is in place to provide vaccinations for the first time to those involved in pest control.

The vaccine can come by Airbus

Transportation will surely be done by the government with the Airbus A330, the purchase of which Péter Szijjártó spoke to the Foreign Affairs Committee on December 10. Pfizer should be stored and transported in extreme conditions of minus 70 degrees.

The Pfizer vaccine has also been introduced in the United Kingdom and the United States, and has already been approved in many parts of the world, including Canada, Mexico, and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian pharmaceutical authority, OGYÉI, is already examining the documentation of the Russian Sputnik V and a Chinese vaccine. If the safety, quality and efficacy of the product are determined to be in order, a non-commercial marketing authorization such as Pfizer may receive a temporary marketing authorization under the jurisdiction of a Member State. During this time, the EMA will also test the vaccines, and your permission will be required later.
