On Tuesday morning, parliament voted 134 votes to 60, with no abstentions, to amend the electoral law. In this sense, instead of the current 27, the party that wishes to nominate a national list of parties will have to nominate candidates in 71 individual electoral districts in the future.

On November 10, one minute before midnight, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén presented his proposal to reform the Electoral Law. According to the official pro-government reasoning, the amendment to the electoral law is necessary because of the so-called camouflage parties, which do not run for political purposes, only to obtain the support of the state and establish a list of parties in the elections. This did not yet include 71, but 50 departures from individual electoral districts.

However, the proposal presented by Zsolt Semjén also inspired János Volner, an independent deputy who exotic and then also left the Movement Our Country, which he had already suggested to the list of national parties.

According to lawyer András Schiffer, founder of the LMP, the bill is also not adequate to curb camouflage parties, but it does not follow from the amendment that it will lead opposition parties towards a common list.
