The two companies promise coordinated transportation and more flights.

The 2020/2021 schedule for MÁV-Start and Volánbusz will take effect on Sunday, the two companies said, adding that their unified strategic management will allow coordinated train and bus connections.

According to the announcement, the new schedule will bring a notable change in some thirty rail lines and fifty bus routes.

In eastern Hungary, the InterCity network is expanding on several main lines: the Zemplén and Borsod area is approaching the capital with new direct connections every two hours. The InterCity service (called Békés InterCity) will be available every hour between Budapest and Békéscsaba on all trains, and a new InterCity will also depart from the capital for Békéscsaba late at night.

In the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, the Volánbusz will launch several new flights: the change will affect Szerencs, Erdőbénye, Olaszliszka, Sárospatak, Sátoraljaújhely, Putnok, Hét and Sajónémeti. From Tiszaújváros and Polgár, it is possible to travel to Budapest faster and more frequently by coordinating bus and train transport schedules.

Buses run between Szeged and Makó every day, at least every 30 minutes, and travel times are shortened during rush hours, as there are also bus services between the two settlements on the M43 motorway in the morning and in the evening. late.

Between Budapest and Eger, the Volánbusz tunes its flights with the InterRegion schedule, which was introduced in October, so that train and bus services between the two cities start on average every half hour. On the Kecskemét and Hetényegyháza route, the offer is extended with nine pairs of trains on working days.

Thanks to the renewal of the Hatvan railway line, passenger trains run between Budapest and Gödöllő every day, even every weekend. Trains run in the lower Érd and Budapest-Kelenföld sections every 10 minutes during the morning rush hour. Passenger trains run between Székesfehérvár and Siófok on a regular schedule, every two hours during the day.

The new Helikon InterRegion trains, which run every two hours on the Győr – Celldömölk – Keszthely – Fonyód – Kaposvár route, significantly improve traffic between the large cities of Transdanubia and the reach of Lake Balaton. Buses run between Zalaegerszeg and Keszthely every hour from sunrise to night, every 30 minutes during rush hours.
