Party chairman Zbigniew Ziobro, who is also Justice Minister, announced at a press conference on Saturday that his party will not leave the coalition, leaving a government majority in parliament, Reuters reports.

The smaller coalition partner called on Prime Minister Mateusz Morawieczki to veto the EU budget and recovery fund on the introduction of the rule of law, citing the decision as a “veto and death” option.

Ziobro, on the other hand, was upset by this deal, as even the softened rule of law mechanism was unacceptable to his party. In the end, however, they voted in favor of remaining in government.
