Disney announced Thursday that it plans to star in the Star Wars and Marvel series specifically for Disney + in the future.
Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen also return in one of the productions.

The two actors starred in Star Wars II in 2002. Part III: Attack of the Clones and in 2005 Star Wars III. Part: Co-starred in The Revenge of the Sith. The Kenobi series, which will debut on Disney + in 2022, will take place ten years after Revenge of the Sith, the Hollywood Reporter wrote.
Last week, another major Hollywood film studio, Warner Bros., announced that all of its 2021 screenings will debut simultaneously on HBO Max’s streaming service and in theaters.
The pandemic is a huge blow to the entire entertainment industry, with cinemas desperately waiting for movies that will attract viewers. However, taking advantage of streaming demand, big movie studios are building their subscriber base with their new screenings, and content producers are looking to serve an audience not yet ready to return to theaters, BBC News wrote.
Disney plans to offer ten new television series from the Marvel and Star Wars universes on its streaming service in the coming years. These include the new series The Mandalorian, one of whose heroes will be a Star Wars character similar to Yoda.
Another Star Wars series, Andor, is also planned. In this, Diego Luna will play the same character he played in 2016’s Rogue One – A Star Wars Story.
Among the new productions, it was also announced that Patty Jenkins will direct the Star Wars film Rogue Squadron, whose protagonists will be the pilots of the Star Wars universe. This film is expected to premiere in Christmas 2023. Variety.com noted that Jenkins will be the first woman to direct a Star Wars film.

Disney + was launched a good year ago by Disney. The streaming service already has 86.8 million subscribers, well above the company’s own client growth forecast.
