Tamás Bódog: I would like to clarify some things

“Indeed, because the leaders of the club and I stayed in this when we said goodbye – He said Tamás Bódog, whose contract was terminated by the Kispest club, which was in last place in the table. – However, the sports director István Urbányi on the club’s website violated this agreement, to which I adhere, and spoke of me as solely responsible for the poor performance, so I would like to clarify some things.

– Doesn’t the story have to start there for the team to last?
– And it hurt a lot! It is not polite for me to feel honored at the Honvéd’s request, I saw the enthusiasm of the owners, and I felt that the framework was the right one for offensive football with the reinforcements that I have pointed out, but it was also about the agreement: you have to prove fast people in defense, center and forward.

– There was no complaint about the certificates, since former players of the national team, familiar faces associated with Honvéd, also arrived.
“And none of the players came to the club at my request.” So the speed: Amadou Moutari would have been a key person in our tactics, so he was very affected when they spoke, do not play, do not get hurt because he sold the club. Exactly him ?! And yes, very good footballers have arrived, but in what state of power? This unfortunately led to conflicts, there was one player who himself admitted upon arrival that he had up to fifteen minutes, others had not played a betting match for months or years. So it was, among others, Baráth Botond, who is a national team player, everyone knows his skills, but his performance was very missed, although when he reached it, he improved more and more. That is why I made a written report on the situation of the newcomers.

– Márton Eppel, who had previously won a championship with Honvéd, also arrived.
– I’ve heard many times that there are “project players” that the club needs, so it doesn’t matter if I need that particular soccer player. Marci is very strong mentally, but I missed a lot, and with him we had four very similar characters, centers of style, but he was not the fast player that I asked for in the depths. The project is to build the Honvéd of the future, which sounds great, but it should have worked in the present as well, and it would have required footballers in good condition to be deployed immediately, which I requested.

– What did you think of the academics?
“I don’t think anyone has played with as many young people at Honvéd as I have, and for some reason.” The young people were right, it was great to work with them. Naturally, the sixteen to seventeen year old is not yet a finished soccer player, he cannot be expected to be a shooter right away. I worked as a coach with André Schürrle, who became world champion, or there was Joshua Kimmich, who today is a Bayern Munich stronghold, and they too gradually acquired a more important role, from this experience we began to incorporate Young.

– You really didn’t communicate properly with the team?
– That is not true, until the last game there was harmony between the players and me, we were able to discuss the problems. What caused me the most problems were the outbursts of the sports director because he mentally ruined more players, which took a lot of energy from me. In the summer, he told four or five players to find a team for themselves because they didn’t need it, and then how to stay and work with them as a head coach to build self-confidence. It so happened that István Urbányi threatened one of the players in front of the team in a bloody way, but it is not a normal training task for players to ask me to tell the sports director not to harass them on the phone in the afternoon. A team player demanded that, returning from the viral infection, he could play a break, according to the measured data, ninety percent of them in a state of hypoxia – according to medical instructions, he could no longer be on the field, but to István it was difficult for him to understand why.

“All the outsiders can say is that it is not very clear what Honvéd wants to play.”
“I did not say that I did not make a mistake and that I would not be responsible for the failure, but I did not spoil everything alone. Within the adult program, there was a continuous flow between four teams, which was a great irresponsibility at the time of the virus situation. Thirteen-four players entered the field in thirteen games, so it was not possible to expect stability. When we started, the virus exploded in the locker room, so our preparation for the last six games became unrealistic. A few weeks later, the management planned four wins for the last seven matches, and then, a week later, the match against MTK was declared to be a final. Too many unfortunate factors together have led to this poor performance, in which I have my own responsibility, I regret that this is how the team played.
