The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 3,221 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 259,588. The number of infected people continues to grow across Europe, in neighboring countries and in Hungary, with more and more people seeking hospital care. The epidemic cannot be stopped, the goal remains to stop the epidemic and protect the functioning of hospitals. This is the purpose of the emergency protection measures announced by the state of emergency, which the government will extend one more month, so the current curfew and other protection measures will remain until January 11 – read on koronavirus .gov.hu.

The government is discussing everything possible about a foreign vaccine, and the website https://vakcinainfo.gov.hu/ was launched, where the need for vaccination can already be indicated. The vaccination will be free and voluntary. If there is a suitable vaccine approved by the Hungarian authorities, the vaccination plan body will administer the vaccines and priority will be given to health workers.

The first and second rounds of group testing targeting daycare, kindergarten, school, social and health workers ended with a lower than expected participation and low infection.

In the first round, 181,506 people were tested, 2.44% of them tested positive. In the second round, 186,143 people took the opportunity, and only 1.9% of them tested positive.

However, it is also important to know that older people can shop at other times outside of the protected shopping time zone.

Stores, with the exception of pharmacies and gas stations, can stay open until 7 p.m. and after curfew expires, so they can open at 5 a.m. at the earliest. Service providers and services that are not mentioned in the regulation (eg hairdresser, massage therapist, personal trainer) can normally operate under curfew rules.

The regulations introduced so far on the use and maintenance of distance remain in force, with the obligation to wear a mask in some public areas of settlements with more than 10,000 inhabitants. It is the responsibility of the mayor to designate the areas. It is not yet mandatory to wear a mask during sports activities, as well as in parks or green areas.

All meetings are prohibited.

Restaurants cannot accept guests, they can only stay there to bring food. Hotels cannot accept tourists, only guests arriving for business, economic or educational reasons. It is prohibited to carry out any type of event, including cultural events and Christmas fairs. Sports matches must be held behind closed doors. The use of leisure facilities, including in particular fitness rooms, indoor swimming pools, museums, libraries, cinemas and zoos, skating rinks, is prohibited.

Nurseries, kindergartens and primary schools are open up to the eighth grade as usual, with special institutional protection measures determined by the principal. High schools and universities have moved to a digital agenda. Fixed Internet access service is available free of charge for thirty days to students and educators of digital education in public education and vocational training.

Operational staff currently ordered special breaks in 275 kindergartens for one group (9%), 101 kindergartens (3%), and 73 primary schools (3%) for the entire institution, and 522 primary schools for one or two classes ( twenty%). ) and 42 elementary schools (2%) have an institution-wide digital curriculum.

Private and family events (eg birthdays) can be held for up to 10 people. Funerals can be held for up to 50 people. Weddings can be held without a wedding, however only certain people can attend the event.
