The players of the Turkish national team withdrew from the field after the fourth numbered official said they made racist statements.

The Paris Saint-Germain – Basaksehir match was interrupted on Tuesday in the group stage of the Football Champions League.

The Group AH meeting in Paris was cut short after Basaksehir’s players left the pitch at the end of a lengthy debate with the referee over an alleged racist comment from the fourth official, followed by PSG.

The Guardian writes that the controversy erupted after the Turkish team’s assistant coach Pierre Web aired. Referee Oliviu Hategan then asked referee No. 4 Sebastian Coltescuto which of those sitting on the bench should show the red card, and Coltescuto said “ala negru”, which means “the black guy”. This was later mentioned by Dembe Ba, who was also exhibited by the referee.

For army pilot Basaksehir, the no-bet match is 0-0 and it is not yet known if it will continue.
