The group of companies advertising the apartments of the Hermina Happy Land project will have to pay a fine of three and a half million guilders for misleading real estate advertising, the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) told MTI on Tuesday. While writing, the advertisements in question violate several aspects:

It was found to be misleading for photos from image sharing sites to be displayed as if they were taken from properties under construction. In addition, they were unable to corroborate several of the advertising messages in their ads, and it is also illegal to remove posts that are unfavorable to them from their social site.

Moderation of opinions is not in itself an unfair business practice, but the unilateral removal of criticism limits the scope of information, the competition authority noted. Hermina Happy Land apartments have been advertised by Hermina Center Ingatlanforgalmazó Kft. And Hermina Bau Hungary Ingatlanforgalmazó Kft. Since 2016. In addition to paying the fine, the group of companies must also put an end to the infringing business practice within 30 days.
