According to the court, there is a danger that the man will escape and commit another similar crime.

A man from Szentes cheated on his brother’s 6-year-old daughter in an abandoned cemetery in Szentes on one occasion in 2019, and then sexually abused him, according to the indictment by the Csongrád-Csanád County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to a statement from the prosecution, the man also sexually abused his other brother’s 7-year-old granddaughter in the boy’s parents’ apartment that same year.

The Szeged Court confirmed the man’s detention until the decision of the lower court, as there was a risk that the man would escape or hide, or that he would influence the evidence process through witnesses or commit other similar crimes .

The Szeged Prosecutor General’s Office proposed that the order be upheld and maintained the detention of 2 Szentes men accused of sexual violence.

The man appealed against the court order.

However, the Szeged Prosecutor General’s Office did not consider it exhaustive and therefore proposed that the first instance order be maintained.

The Szeged Sentencing Board decides on the appeal in second instance.
