Viktor Orbán sent a message to Budapest warning him about the second wave of the coronavirus.

One can be sure of only one thing, what you have already experienced, what you have already experienced, said the Prime Minister, suggesting that this is also the case in this crisis. He listens to epidemiologists and doctors regularly, but opinions are mixed.

However, there are common points:

  • This virus exists, here it is
  • We don’t have a vaccine
  • There is no guarantee that you will die on your own, so you cannot give up defense.

We see that the virus affects different people in different ways, said Viktor Orbán. The place most exposed to infection is Budapest, and we also see that the elderly are much more affected by the virus than the younger ones. For this reason, rules for the elderly should be maintained, as should exit restrictions in Budapest and Pest County. Elsewhere, lighter rules are introduced instead of tracking restrictions because the virus spreads more slowly in the field.

He also referred to listening to members of the operating tribe every morning and making decisions based on it.

If necessary, we can make a decision in an hour.

– He pointed out that security is more important than speed in the case of a virus, but they can react quickly when necessary. However, he said the two-week review was the correct pace.

Hungary can declare that it has won its first battle against the virus.

We managed to develop defense methods, to prepare ourselves for health care. In the event that the epidemic suddenly hits a big wave again, no one should be afraid of being left without attention. Now the question is how to restart life, “he added.

They see Austria and Austrian decisions as important examples in such cases, where they are most advanced in the course of the virus, so this is of great help to Hungary, the Prime Minister said.

If we can reduce the death toll in Budapest, they will not hesitate to ease the restrictions here as well.. However, the virus did not disappear, so winning the first battle doesn’t even mean winning the war. There will be a second wave, he said.

It slows down in the summer, but a second wave is expected around October-November.

He thinks this is the most likely scenario right now. The country will be able to respond much better and faster to the second wave.

Regarding the economic effects, the Prime Minister said that the most useful experience is the 2010 crisis for this period. Even now, the jobs are focused, Viktor Orbán put it this way, if there is a job, there is a possibility, so they are still focused on the jobs. Therefore, it also offers a personal guarantee. He said again that they will create as many jobs as the virus will destroy.
