At the moment, the regulation of teleworking at the state level covers the time of emergency, but it is expected that the Labor Code may be modified after the extraordinary measures, writes Magyar Nemzet. Both employers and employees want change.

Many private sector players plan to systematize the possibility of telecommuting in the long term and employee surveys show that employees expect to work from home a few days a week.

However, an improperly regulated home office can cause a number of problems. For example, Eurofound analysis suggests that working from home can easily get endless. To avoid this, it must be regulated that the employee can turn off the digital devices necessary for his work after the end of the working day.

The right to disconnect (R2D), in practice, means that a subordinate would not be liable when his work time expires and therefore does not respond to emails or turn off his phone. According to experts, the employer could even force the employee to turn off the tools necessary to perform the work after hours or make the workplace system inaccessible to him.
