Retirement benefits will increase in 2021 in line with expectations.

A government decree on increasing pension benefits and some other benefits in January 2021 was published in the Hungarian Gazette published on Wednesday evening. Turns out that

the remuneration of those affected will increase in line with inflation expected for the future, that is, by 3 percent.

Old-age, widowhood and parental pensions, orphan and disability benefits, among others, will increase with the regulation of the increase.

According to the law, benefits payable before January 2021 must be paid to beneficiaries in a larger amount.

Next year will also begin the reintroduction of the 13-month pension into benefits, under which those affected will receive an additional weekly pension in February in addition to the basic pension increased by 3 percent. In February 2022, you will receive two additional pensions and a year later, an additional three-week pension, and from February 2024 the additional one-month pension will be paid.
