Photographers were photographed from the Utah metal column. A message was also left at the scene, writes the science portal IFL Science.
The metal pole was originally seen by a helicopter pilot counting wild sheep in a barren, desert area of Utah. The structure, which is at least 10 feet tall, was presumably the work of an artist who commemorated the 2001 science fiction film Space Duel. According to some experts, it is not ruled out that the structure was installed years ago, in 2015, only that until now nobody noticed.
On November 27 the mysterious column disappeared. Authorities deny taking it. A man visiting the area saw a truck leave the area on the day of his disappearance.
Shortly after his disappearance, an Instagram flu also visited the place, and in addition to the wheel tracks, he also noticed a short but essential inscription in the sand. The message was just this:
Goodbye armor! “
Four men took the column
Another Instagram, Ross Bernards, claims to have witnessed the removal of the monolith. The column was shot down by four unknown men on Friday at 8:40 am local time. The structure was split in half during the operation and the remains were removed from the site by wheelbarrow.
That’s why we don’t leave garbage in the desert either. “ said one of the men, then added:
Leave no clues “
Bernards did not attempt to stop the column transporters, as he said that since the monolith’s discovery, there has been so much tourist traffic in the area that it has already endangered the local ecosystem. He also took photos of the column removal.
A monolith also appeared in Romania
A copy of the Utah Column was erected next to an ancient ruin in Neamţ County in northeast Romania, near the town of Piatra Neamţ on Mount Doamnei.
This monolith was approximately 4 feet tall and closely resembled its American counterpart.
Shortly after its discovery, the Romanian monolith also disappeared.
