István Tarlós, former mayor, today filed a complaint against an independent deputy for the minor offense of public defamation. The deputy previously wrote on Facebook that “due to the fraudulent purchase of the metro, István Tarlós would not be entitled to honorary citizenship of Budapest, but to jail.”

Speaking to ATV, Tarlós added:

I also hope Hadházy informs me for the subways. If you wrote what you wrote and did not report, you are committing a crime by not reporting or by confessing that you were defamed.

In today’s Facebook post, the independent member of parliament responded as follows:

I can assure István Tarlós that if the BKV commission of inquiry or supervisory board does not report on the “reconditioned” subway cars, of course I will.

According to him, “in a few cases the crime is as obvious as rust in the case of Russian subway cars.” He added that, in the meantime, Tarlós should stop “bribing the responsibility of others.”
