Demeter Szilárd, general director of the Petőfi Literary Museum, curator, was summoned by the MSZP and the LMP in their speeches before Parliament, as were the DK and the Dialogue.

However, the Minister of Finance, Mihály Varga, reacted: he did not intend to link the country’s financing to Szilárd Demeter’s letter.

However, he added that Demeter Szilárd had withdrawn her earlier, criticized writing, also deleted her Facebook page, and acknowledged her mistake when writing that her writing could damage the memory of the victims.

He also pointed out that the left, he said, measures with double standards here too, because when a left-wing MP, the mayor, said that Adolf Hitler was deservedly the man of the year, the opposition parties did not take any concrete action. He added that in his opinion, the last time in the case of László Bíró there was a double standard.

Meanwhile, a long list was posted on the PIM Friends Facebook page with the signatures of staff who distance themselves from Szilárd Demeter’s statements.
