In some cases, hunters may be exempted from the curfew.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to stem the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections a day had been identified, and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Viktor Orbán announced on November 9 that the government would ban all rallies as part of austerity measures to spread the coronavirus epidemic for at least a month.

However, the restriction does not apply to conducting social hunts: learned from 24.hu. The information on the portal was also confirmed by the National Police Headquarters (ORFK).

The ORFK stated that “hunting is primarily a hunting management activity that is carried out as planned in terms of area and time. Epidemiological control is not an obstacle to maintaining properly reported social hunts.”

They argue that this is not because it serves the functioning of hunting management, the planned and necessary regulation of hunting and the economic survival of hunting enterprises.

It was also stated that hunting “cannot be postponed due to the cycle of nature.”

Hunters are an exception to the assembly law because, according to the police, although social hunting refers to group activities in their name, it cannot be interpreted as gathering. However, the document also notes that at least during the pre-hunt briefings, hunters should meet.

It also turned out that, in some cases, hunters could be exempt from curfew between 8 am and 5 pm It is true that this does not apply to social hunts, they can only be carried out during the day. But in addition to professional hunters, individual member sport hunters can also obtain a license to hunt at night if they are involved in depleting wild boar populations or killing wild boar to slow the spread of African swine fever.

It’s time for the deer roar, but due to the border closure, planned hunts will also be missed. Hunting companies hoped that the red deer season would recover from the epidemic, now it is over if the government does not allow it. According to them, the participants in the hunts have little contact.

The epidemic sent the hunt from home to the ground
