Gábor Kemenesi, an associate professor at the Faculty of Science at the University of Pécs, is very concerned about the figures.

As we reported, the epidemiological data released Sunday morning is the worst so far since the emergence of the coronavirus in Hungary. According to official information, the new coronavirus infection was detected in 6,819 people last day, bringing the total to 211,527. The death toll rose 156 on Sunday.

A total of 6,819 infections were found in a single day by performing 16,311 coronavirus tests. This means that 41.8 percent of the tests were positive. Gábor Kemenesi reacted to this. He wrote:

The last time, when the number of daily samples was around 16,000, the positive test rate was 15 to 17 percent. Today, it has passed 40 percent with the same number of test samples! So a new record has been set that marks a big exclamation point for everyone, ”the virologist wrote on his community page.

According to him, it cannot be said that this reduces the spread of the epidemic, on the contrary, he asks everyone to avoid unnecessary socializing, grouping, keeping distance, washing hands frequently, wearing a mask. Follow or even follow epidemiological measures.

“Let’s do it for each other, let’s do it for hospitals, our healthcare workers, our peers, jobs, the economy, and ourselves! Let’s not let the virus spread, because it threatens everything at once! “Kemenesi wrote.
