Downing Street has announced that the vaccines are expected to go on sale before Christmas if the UK Drugs Authority approves the use of the vaccines.

The Secretary of State is headed by Nadhim Zahawi, a member of the lower house of the ruling Conservative Party, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Business Affairs. In holding this position, Zahawi will lead the new secretary of state responsible for the coronavirus vaccination campaign. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said at a recent press conference that the government had already ordered 40 million doses of vaccines from pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech and an additional 300 million doses of five other vaccines. Of the latter, 100 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine developed jointly by the British-Swedish pharmaceutical group AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford have been withdrawn by the British government. A pharmacovigilance study has already started in the UK for Pfizer / BioNTech and Oxford / AstraZeneca.

According to Saturday’s report in the Financial Times, the UK supervisory authority could approve the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines starting next week. Pfizer indicated the other day that, if approved, it will be able to start marketing its vaccine in the UK within a few hours.

The UK Department of Health announced on Saturday that it would provide free vitamin D to members of the most vulnerable populations during the winter. The measure, which covers 2.7 million people, aims to strengthen the general health of those affected.
