A brutal increase in bus tickets announced in one of the Fidesz County seats

As of January 1, public transport in Veszprém will be significantly more expensive.

Porga Gyula, the mayor of the city of Fidesz announced in an electronic meeting held on Thursday that a price increase is planned at the municipal company, V-Busz Veszprémi Közlekedési Kft. The motion stated that the increase would be around 30 percent for tickets standard and discount tickets, but the price of the new ticket could be 50 percent higher for some types of tickets.

The decision to lift was approved by the mayor despite opposition votes. The emergency assembly is fundamentally informative, the decision is in the hands of the mayor.

This measure is particularly insensitive in an emergency, but it nevertheless does not serve to increase the use of public transport.

According to Hartmann, the projected 2-4 percent passenger loss as a result of the price increase seems overly optimistic. A drastic elevator could discourage many more from getting on a commuter bus. However, when the transportation company was created, the original goal was to get as many people as possible to use community service, which could help improve environmental conditions in the city.
