Now, via Forbes, Electronic Arts has responded and been told that this is not their fight.
“Social media outrage is not a problem for EA or EA Sports. We have nothing to do with this matter, the players and their representatives should discuss it with FIFPro. The International Organization of Professional Footballers has assured us that they are handling this matter. This is not our fight … ” An EA spokesperson told Forbes.
At the Canadian firm, they added, they don’t understand all the outrage, especially since they have had a close relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gareth Bale, who are behind the case, for years. The two footballers have also received regular awards from the company and indeed EA is even working with the Welsh E-sports team.
