The restrictions imposed in Germany due to the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic will spread and tighten at various points, Berlin announced.

According to the MTI report, Chancellor Angela Merkel said after a ten-hour consultation with provincial heads of government in a nightly briefing that

extended until December 20

restrictions originally planned until the end of November.

They will consult again in mid-December and, “by human calculation”, they will be forced to extend them again, keeping the provisions in force until the beginning of January.

Once again, a great national joint effort is needed, because only the rapid increase in the number of infections has been stopped and the epidemic has not yet disappeared.

Said the chancellor. Merkel also reported on the tightening of several rules:

Up to five people from two households can stay together instead of the previous ten, and a mask should be worn not only in shops and public transport, but in all crowded places.
